Adam Driver Reacts On Lena Dunham Claiming He Threw Chair During Sex Scene Shot In Girls, ‘I Have..’

For the longest time, Hollywood actor, Adam Driver did not comment on the allegations made related to his on-set behaviour by Lena Dunham. It was in her new memoir named, Famesick that she wrote about an emotionally intense and also frightening bond with Driver, on the sets of Girls that aired from 2012 to 2017. She had described his behaviour as ‘verbally aggressive’.

Hollywood actor, Adam Driver was seen attending the press conference at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival. It was for his film, Paper Tiger, when reporters asked the actor about the disturbing allegations made by Lena Dunham; he had a cold and gave a sarcastic reply. A report by The Guardian revealed that when the reporters questioned him about his behaviour on the sets with the actress, he said:

“I have no comment on any of that – I’m saving it all for my book.”

Hollywood actor, Adam Driver broke his silence after a very long time, following Dunham’s allegations of having many difficult experiences on the set of Girls. The HBO comedy-drama ran from 2012 to 2017 and gave Adam’s career wings. According to the publication, Lena Dunham recalled a late-night rehearsal on the set of Girls. She revealed that she had forgotten her lines during a scene and that the actor had hurled a chair at the wall next to her.

Lena Dunham created, wrote, and also directed the Emmy-winning series titled, Girls. She alleged that he occasionally exhibited aggressive behaviour on the sets. This was especially true when emotionally charged scenes were shot. In Famesick, the actress wrote that the more she knew Adam, the less she understood him. Amongst the many claims made by the actress, she revealed that the sex scene with Adam was carefully planned. However, it went out of the window as she accused the actor of hurling her this way and that. In her words:

“Stunned, I couldn’t speak for a moment, unsure of what had happened – had I lost directorial authority, allowed the scene to go off the rails, not given proper instructions? I remember doing a fight scene with Adam and how scary it was to meet someone so totally present with such absence. Late one night, as we practised lines in my trailer, I found that mine were suddenly gone.”

Lena Dunham revealed that she had forgotten lines of a scene she had written for Girls. She had known them only minutes before. But when she opened her mouth, the actress confessed to stammering. She alleged that Adam screamed and told her, “fucking say something”. A chair was hurled at the wall next to her. She claimed he said:

“Wake the fuck up. I am sick of watching you just stare.”
