He took full responsibility for his words, explaining that they came from a place of hurt, as he believed he had been betrayed.
McBee wrote that he deeply loved Eklund, and his reaction was borne out of “absolute hurt”, taking full responsibility for how things fell out after that. Without taking any names, the reality TV star issued an apology, acknowledging the criticism that came with his actions. He wrote:
“While there are other videos and details I will not be sharing out of respect, this context is not an excuse. What followed is my responsibility alone… The texts I sent were cruel and degrading. No level of personal hurt and betrayal justifies the language I used, and I am ashamed of those messages. To anyone who has been on the receiving end of such words, I am truly sorry. I recognize that the criticism I am receiving is fair, and I am listening.”
Towards the end of his message, the cowboy shared that he is now seeking therapy to learn to manage his emotions better, acknowledging that no situation justified the way he spoke to the woman he so deeply loved and trusted, and wanted to build his life with.

What caused the fallout?
In case you missed out, the fallout between McBee Jr. and Eklund started after a night at the Stagecoach music festival. The reality star shared screenshots of DMs suggesting that his then-girlfriend, Allie, was getting close to another man at an afterparty, describing that they held hands and danced cosily with each other. He also mentioned getting similar messages, calls, and even a video suggesting the same. McBee Jr. was convinced Eklund had cheated, and ended the relationship soon after.
Eklund has continued to deny the cheating allegations, maintaining that the viral video only showed her with a group of long-time friends. She also criticized McBee for taking the situation public before they could talk privately, saying how it made things even worse and dragged their personal issue into unnecessary spotlight.
