A local court in Hyderabad adjourned the next hearing in the Sandhya Theatre stampede case to July 6. Actor Allu Arjun was expected to appear in person for the hearing today. However, he could not attend as he is currently shooting for his film Raaka in Mumbai. His lawyer informed the court about his absence. The actor is now required to file a memo through his legal representative. Meanwhile, all the other accused individuals involved in the case were present in person. The legal team of the Tollywood superstar has been continuously requesting the court to permit virtual appearances. The court recently declined this request, insisting on a personal appearance.

A sensational incident
The legal trouble stems from an incident that took place on December 4, 2024. A massive crowd gathered at Sandhya Theatre for a special screening of Pushpa 2. The sudden arrival of Allu Arjun triggered chaos among fans, leading to a stampede outside the venue. A 35-year-old woman named Revathi lost her life in the crush. Her young son, Sritej, sustained severe neurological injuries during the incident. The Chikkadpally police filed a detailed chargesheet naming 23 accused persons. Investigators listed Allu Arjun as Accused No. 11. Police alleged that the theatre management and the actor’s team failed to secure the necessary safety permissions. The case became a major talking point across the Telugu states for weeks.
