Alvin Kamara says he’s on good terms with the Saints.
While Kamara hasn’t been attending New Orleans’ voluntary workouts this offseason amid uncertainty about his future with the franchise, he showed up Wednesday for the team’s OTA practice and meetings, with his role in 2026 uncertain.
“On my side, I feel no beef or bad blood,” Kamara said, via Rod Walker of the New Orleans Times-Piccaayune. “I’m going to do what I do every year. Working … I’m going to do what I do every year. I’m going to train and be ready and we’ll see what happens.”
Even though the 30-year-old has been the Saints’ lead running back over the past few years, his future looked uncertain when general manager Mickey Loomis signed former Jaguar and 1,000-yard rusher Travis Etienne in March.
Loomis and the Saints have yet to make a firm commitment to Kamara being in New Orleans come Week 1, but head coach Kellen Moore thinks he can still fit into the offense well.
Kamara is entering the final year of his contract.
“Alvin got here today. He’s here. So, we’ll kind of work through an acclamation process there, getting there, getting to work with him,” Moore said. “It’s good to see him. Just saw him right at the team meeting as we were starting.”
A third-round pick out of Tennessee back in 2017, Kamara has been the heart and soul of the Saints offense even as they’ve struggled to find a long-term answer at quarterback after Drew Brees’ retirement.

Though Kamara hasn’t cracked 1,000 rushing yards in a season, he’s been a potent pass-catching back.
Kamara only had 186 receiving yards and played just 11 games in 2025, but had nearly 1,500 scrimmage yards in 2024.
In 126 career games, he’s recorded 4,948 receiving yards.
Despite starting just 2-10 last season, New Orleans won four of its final five games to finish 6-11. Kamara’s final game of the season came on Nov. 23.
The Saints’ 2026 season kicks off against the Lions on Sept. 13.
