Recently, in April 2026, about a month before she clinched her AMAs 2026 win, she spoke about her relationship status on the Playboy Spring 2026 cover. The 35-year-old shared that she was “letting go of everything”, embracing singlehood, and prioritising her personal growth over dating. She explained that she has always experienced her most “evolutionary moments” when she was completely alone.

Karol G initially shared that she was bummed about her split with her ex-boyfriend, Feid; however, over time, she adapted to her single life. Once she did, she felt liberated and worked on self-discovery. The reggaeton star further stated that according to her culture, she should have been married by then; however, she did not regret her choices. She stated, “I actually felt that it’s beautiful that I’m living my process, that I’m evolving, that I’m learning, that I’m not tired of experimenting, that I’m curious.” Talking about the upsides of being single, she mentioned:

“I’m letting go of everything. I’m single and, to be honest, I’ve always thought that my most evolutionary moments come when I’m alone…I think you have to work a lot on yourself so the relationship can work…When I finished my last relationship, I initially felt like, ‘Wow, I’m here again.’ But then I saw it as, ‘Wow, how beautiful that I had the courage to say that I no longer wanted to be there.'”

Feid (real name Salomón Villada Hoyos) is a reggaeton Grammy-nominated Colombian singer, songwriter, and producer. He was born in Medellin, Colombia, in August 1992, and is 33 years old as of May 2026. Feid hails from the same city as his ex-girlfriend, Karol G and is two years younger than her. Regarding his career, Feid signed with Universal Music Publishing Group in 2016, per Billboard. His music reflects his background, featuring Medellin slang and culture, and has a touch of the neighbourhood he grew up in. Talking about the inspiration behind his music, he told PEOPLE in 2021:

“Everything that inspires my music…my muse if you will…is and always has been my culture and everything that revolves around that. The most beautiful thing is seeing how artists from salsa and vallenato are so keen to the culture and it has inspired me to also be an ambassador for our people.”

Feid heavily uses green-themed aesthetic in his music and clothing. Sharing the reason with Uproxx, he said that it represents the ‘nea’ subculture of his city, Medellin. Feid discovered his love for performing in seventh grade, according to Billboard. As he grew up, his passion for the art grew, and he began pursuing songwriting. He loves blending reggae with hip-hop influences while retaining the genre’s authenticity. Speaking of reggaeton music, he told NPR in 2023:

Karol G and Feid met in their hometown of Medellin, Colombia. They lost touch and reconnected years later in 2021. He served as the opening act for her Bichota US tour, and they collaborated on the hit track, FRIKI, which sparked dating rumours. By 2023, their relationship was an open secret, and they photographed holding hands backstage at Feid’s Miami concert. Karol G then confirmed their relationship by dedicating her love song, Tus Gafitas to Feid on stage. The next year, she made their romance Instagram official by posting a photo of them holding hands at the 2024 Billboard Women in Music Awards.
