Bhubaneswar : The scheduled visit of Union home minister Amit Shah to Odisha has been cancelled, according to informed sources and Bargarh MP Pradeep Purohit, who confirmed the development on Thursday.
The Union home minister was scheduled to arrive in the state on July 3 for a two-day official tour, during which he was expected to review and participate in multiple development-related programmes across western Odisha.
As per the earlier itinerary, Shah was slated to attend the inauguration of a major ethanol production project in Bargarh district on July 4, along with a series of other state-level infrastructure and industrial initiatives aimed at boosting investment and rural employment in the region.
However, the proposed engagements have now been called off, and no fresh schedule has been announced so far.
Further details on a revised programme, if any, are awaited.
