
Tirupati: In a tragic incident, four members of a family were found dead at their residence in Bangareddipalli village, Chittoor rural mandal, on Monday. The deceased have been identified as Damodaram, 45, his wife Nirmala, 38, their son Dilip, 12, and daughter Srividya. 9.
Police suspect that Damodaram administered poison to his wife and children before taking his own life by hanging. The incident came to light on Monday morning when villagers alerted authorities. The bodies were sent to the government hospital in Chittoor for post-mortem examination.
Police said Nirmala had been undergoing treatment at CMC Hospital after suffering a brain stroke. Preliminary investigation suggests that her health condition and financial problems faced by the family may have been factors behind the incident.
Police found a note reportedly written by Damodaram, stating that no one was responsible for their deaths. He also mentioned his ATM card and PhonePe PIN details and requested that the money in his account be used for the funeral expenses. A case was registered and further investigation was underway.
