Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu stated that attempts to revive regional animosities between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana would not succeed, as people are mature enough to recognise who has contributed to development and public welfare.

Responding to recent remarks made against Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan in Telangana, the Chief Minister said such statements were unnecessary and could create avoidable tensions between people of the two Telugu-speaking states.

“It has been twelve years since the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. We have moved forward as two separate states. At this stage, certain leaders attempting to provoke regional sentiments and create divisions will not succeed. People know who has worked for their welfare and development,” he said.

The Chief Minister pointed out that political leaders often campaign beyond their home states in a democratic country like India. For instance “I have campaigned in Tamil Nadu elections. Leaders from various states, including Karnataka, have campaigned in different regions. Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has also participated in election campaigns outside his state. Such democratic participation is common and should not be viewed through a regional lens,” he observed.

He further noted that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) had itself expanded beyond Telangana and established a presence in Andhra Pradesh while expressing national ambitions.

“When political parties seek to expand across states, it is difficult to understand why some leaders object when leaders from other regions engage with people elsewhere. Such statements are neither appropriate nor constructive,” he said.

The Chief Minister emphasized that Telugu people have earned recognition and leadership positions across the world.”Telugu people are serving in constitutional and leadership roles in countries such as the United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom. Across the world, individuals rise to leadership positions based on their service and capabilities. Politics should be about development and public service, not about creating divisions among people,” he said.

He stressed that both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana should focus on growth, prosperity, and improving public services rather than engaging in unnecessary controversies.

“Competition should be in development, governance, and service delivery. Leaders should strive to do more good for people rather than creating differences between regions. Both states must progress together. Creating avoidable controversies serves no one’s interests,” he added.

Referring to YCP allegations on recent DSC appointments, the Chief Minister criticized the opposition, referring to it as the “Axe Party,” for allegedly resorting to baseless criticism and false campaigns instead of constructive politics.

“Some parties know only criticism and destruction. They are incapable of practicing healthy and constructive politics. The public should reject such approaches,” he said. He alleged that certain groups repeatedly spread false narratives believing that repetition would make people accept them as truth.

Referring to criticism over recent teacher recruitment through the DSC process, the Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to transparent and merit-based appointments.

“The Telugu Desam Party has built a strong reputation for conducting teacher recruitments. We fulfilled our election promise by making DSC one of our first priorities after assuming office. The recruitment process has been conducted with complete transparency and strict adherence to rules,” he said.

Condemning allegations regarding sports quota appointments, he clarified that recruitments were carried out strictly according to categories and guidelines prescribed by the Government of India.

“Some individuals are making allegations without even understanding on sports categories and eligibility criteria. False propaganda is being spread through organized social media networks despite the process being transparent and rule-based,” he said.

The Chief Minister stressed that responsible political parties should study issues thoroughly before making allegations.

“There have been instances where opposition parties fought strongly in the Assembly based on facts and evidence. That is how democracy should function. Making baseless allegations and attempting to throw mud at every initiative will not convince the public,” he remarked.

The Chief Minister expressed disappointment that even welfare-oriented programmes such as Yoga Andhra 2026 were being subjected to criticism.

“We have allocated Rs 10 crore for organizing Yoga Andhra 2026, a programme aimed at improving public health and wellness. Criticizing such initiatives reflects a mindset that opposes every positive step taken by the government,” he said.

He added that the government’s responsibility is to continue creating public awareness and ensuring that development and welfare initiatives reach every citizen.

“Our focus remains on delivering good governance, transparency, welfare and development. Ultimately, the people will judge based on performance and results,” the Chief Minister added.
