KADAPA: RIMS police arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with the alleged theft of copper scrap from a stock point in Kadapa and recovered material worth around ₹2 lakh from his possession.
According to police, the stock point opposite IOCL in the Industrial Estate area of Kadapa is operated by Moola Surendra, 36. A complaint was lodged on September 19 alleging that copper scrap had been stolen from the premises.
RIMS police registered a case in Cr. No. 127/2026 under Sections 331(3) and 305(a) of the BNS and launched an investigation.
As part of the investigation, police arrested Sheikh Peeru near Kashinayana temple at Chalamareddypalli on Monday and recovered the stolen copper material from his possession.
The accused was later produced before a court and sent to judicial remand, police said.
