After teasing fans since morning, music composers Anirudh Ravichander and S. Thaman finally unveiled details about their much-talked-about collaboration, playfully calling it “Bakkodu X Bandodu.”
The duo has joined hands for Itlu Arjuna, the maiden production venture of director Venky Kudumula. While Thaman is composing the music for the film, Anirudh has lent his voice for the first single titled Hai Re.
The film introduces “New Guy in Town” Aniesh as the lead hero, while debutant Mahesh Uppala is directing the project. The makers also released an entertaining promo featuring glimpses from the film along with a fun interaction between the two star composers.
In the promo, Anirudh jokingly asks Thaman what kind of mass number he has composed, only for Thaman to clarify that it is actually a romantic track. The full song is scheduled to release on May 28.
The collaboration has also grabbed attention because Anirudh and Thaman are often seen as strong competitors in the South music industry. Over the last few years, Anirudh’s growing presence in Telugu cinema through films like Devara and The Paradise has significantly increased his market in Tollywood.
Industry circles point out that Anirudh currently commands one of the highest remunerations among South Indian music directors, reportedly charging between Rs 8 crore and Rs 9 crore per film. Thaman, meanwhile, continues to remain one of Telugu cinema’s busiest composers with a remuneration range estimated between Rs 3 crore and Rs 4 crore.
