Anna Kepner’s Death, FaceTime Call Allegedly Showed Timothy Hudson Attempting to Enter Her Bed

Anna Kepner’s death case has been creating headlines for the past few weeks for various reasons. While her stepbrother, Timothy Hudson, has been charged with first-degree murder and aggravated sexual abuse, he has not been sentenced yet. A federal judge even refused to jail the 16-year-old on May 27, 2026 (ET), which means that he will stay in the custody of a family member until the case enters trial.

Anna Kepner’s ex-boyfriend opened up on an alleged incident from the past

For the unversed, Timothy Hudson’s trial is scheduled to start on September 8, 2026. Meanwhile, Court TV has now obtained a transcript from the pretrial detention hearing of Timothy. As per the transcript, FBI special agent, Andrew Delvalle, testified that the investigators discovered an incident from the past, which reportedly involved Timothy and Anna Kepner. The details were shared by Anna’s ex-boyfriend when he spoke to the investigators.

Although the identity of Kepner’s ex-boyfriend remains unknown, he said that he and Anna used to speak to each other on FaceTime every day. He recalled one particular day, when Anna fell asleep during a call, and he was awake, doing something in the garage. According to Andrew’s testimony, Anna’s ex-boyfriend could hear a noise on the phone, and he witnessed Timothy Hudson allegedly attempting to get into the bed with Anna. Delvalle continued:

“He was kind of surprised and shocked by it and yelled at [Hudson], and then [Hudson] apparently ran out of the room.”

While Anna discovered the alleged incident from her ex-boyfriend, she refused to speak about the same to her father. This was because Anna was reportedly afraid of Timothy since he was a “weird” individual, who had “quite a few knives.” There was no evidence of the incident on the surveillance cameras installed by Anna’s father because it happened a long time ago, and the videos were automatically deleted after 30 days.

Timothy Hudson’s defense team asked whether the FBI collected the DNA from Anna Kepner’s injuries

Anna Kepner’s cause of death was revealed to be asphyxiation. However, the legal documents recently questioned the DNA evidence collection by the investigators, which is expected to reveal the main culprit behind the incident. The defense attorneys also asked the same at the cross-examination of an FBI agent, referring to the injuries on Anna Kepner’s neck.

The FBI agent responded by saying that he is not sure about it. The agent was also asked if the medical examiner could find that there was only one person who had murdered Anna and also sexually assaulted her at the same time. The agent said in his response:

“I don’t think they made that determination.”

Meanwhile, the DNA sample of a juvenile man, whose identity has not been revealed, was recently collected by the federal investigators. According to Fox News, the juvenile male allegedly got intimate with Anna Kepner after her death on the cruise ship. A rape kit was also used during the autopsy, which had male DNA from two swabs. One of them tested positive. While the investigators also obtained Timothy Hudson’s DNA, the FBI lab compared it with the juvenile, who has been mentioned as “minor witness two” in court. The juvenile was eventually not considered a contributor since the DNA was pointing to Timothy as the main contributor.
