Kadapa:Anti-social elements are increasingly creating trouble in Kadapa district, with incidents of chain snatching, ganja gangs and vandalism causing concern among residents.

In the latest incident, unidentified miscreants vandalised the ‘I Love Kadapa’ signboard installed at Seven Roads Circle, one of the main junctions in Kadapa, in the early hours of Saturday. The incident took place after midnight on Friday.

Residents were shocked to find the letters on the signboard broken and damaged when they noticed it on Saturday morning. Police rushed to the spot after receiving information and inspected the damaged structure. They are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding areas to identify those responsible for the vandalism.

Police suspect that members of ganja gangs or miscreants under the influence of alcohol could have been involved in the incident. This is not the first such incident in the city. Similar vandalism was reported recently at Masapet Circle, where structures were also damaged by unidentified persons.

Meanwhile, a series of chain-snatching incidents in broad daylight has added to the concerns of residents. Women, in particular, are increasingly worried about stepping out of their homes due to the growing incidents of crime in the city.
