Anton Du Beke has landed his dream job – away from the glitz and glamour of the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom, and he’ll be launching his new job very soon
Anton Du Beke has a new job – away from Strictly Come Dancing. The BBC One dance competition judge is releasing his first single, just in time for Christmas, calling it “dream come true”.
The British dancer co-wrote the swing track Dance My Way To Christmas, which will be released next month ahead of the festive season.
He said: “Launching a Christmas single is something I’ve always wanted to do, for as long as I can remember. For me, Christmas is the most magical time of year, and the music played is a huge part of that, and what makes it so memorable.
“All the favourites are rolled out, and for Dance My Way To Christmas to possibly be part of the seasonal playlists is a dream come true!”

Anton will also perform the single as part of his brand-new festive show, Anton At Christmas, which will run from December 10-22 across the UK. The limited run of shows will include dates in Watford, Oxford, Liverpool, London, Wolverhampton, Nottingham, Bournemouth and Brighton.
The song, which he first posted on YouTube last year, was co-written by Jacqui Hicks and also features vocals from Lance Ellington.
Du Beke previously released a 2017 album, From The Top, which included covers of classics including Putting On The Ritz, Fly Me To The Moon, and It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year.
He added: “When we got into the studio with the band and Lance, it was everything I could have dreamed of. I can’t wait to share it with people.”
The exciting news comes after Anton took to the mic during a performance on Strictly this year. He and head judge Shirley Ballas took to the dancefloor as part of a special group performance, which saw two teams of professional stars go head-to-head in a Ballroom vs Latin showdown.
And it certainly went down a treat with fans as Anton belted out Sheffield’s Arctic Monkeys’ mega hit, I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor, originally released in 2006, while Shirley showcased her impressive skills. However, this current season of Strictly has faced setbacks.
With a huge makeover including three new presenters, viewing figures haven’t been too kind to the BBC competition. Viewing figures on October 10, dropped to just five million, with Movie Week the previous year hitting 6.31 million. However, Sunday’s result shows that on October 11, 4.5 million viewers tuned in.
A stark contrast from 6.5 million watching the same week last year. Strictly, which has remained one of the BBC’s most-watched shows, has seen a rapid decline in viewing figures after going up against shows including The Celebrity Traitors, according to BARB data.
The competition is now falling behind shows from ITV and The Great British Bake Off. Data from last week revealed that Celebrity Traitors’ first episode drew a staggering 15 million viewers. The second episode raked in an impressive figure of 14 million.
Anton’s Christmas single will be available to stream and download on the usual music platforms from November 6.
