On October 22, 2026, Stevie Wonder performed live at 3Arena in Stockholm, Sweden. Amongst the masses in attendance was Anupam Kher, who described the experience as any fan would. Taking to his social media, he began to share praise for how great the performance was, saying, “What an evening it was in Stockholm yesterday.
One song after another, and with every note, Stevie Wonder seemed to fill the entire arena with magic. I don’t think I can quite describe what it felt like to watch him perform so close! The music, the rhythm, every gesture, every nuance. It was a joy simply to be there, taking it all in.”
Anupam Kher continued to talk about Stevie Wonder as a person, and the nature of the man behind the world-famous personality, that doesn’t get enough credit for. He said, “And then came the surreal moment of meeting him backstage. I met not only a legendary singer, but also a humanitarian, a deeply kind man, and someone whose warmth and generosity touched me profoundly.”
Anupam Kher added, “The way he appreciated me as an actor was so heartfelt. I left feeling grateful, humbled, and reminded that true greatness has a gentleness to it. Stardom may come and go, but kindness and grace stay with you.
He also gave his thanks to Stevie Wonder’s manager, Brian Laroda, for helping arrange the seats and making the eventful night a possibility. He added, “A heartfelt thank you to my friend Brian Laroda, Stevie’s manager for arranging the wonderful seats and making this unforgettable meeting possible. I will always cherish the music, the evening, and the warmth of that moment.”
He said, “Some stars shine brightly for a lifetime. Some, like diamonds, are eternal. Jai Ho!”
Anupam Kher has been living his life at large, touring across different states in the USA, performing his play Jaane Pehchaane Anjaane, and earning praise from all over.
Just a few weeks back, he added a list of prestigious honours to his list of accolades. Anupam Kher was honoured with the Georgia State Commendation and State of Ohio Special Proclamation in September, and with the North Carolina House of Representatives Recognition in October.
These are just some of the many awards he has been bestowed for his contribution to the world of arts and cinema over his lifetime.
