Salman Khan has finally opened up about why he never got married. The actor, who has often made headlines for his personal life, recently appeared on the premiere episode of Koffee With Karan Season 9, which aired on Wednesday, October 14. During his conversation with filmmaker Karan Johar, Salman spoke about his decision to remain unmarried and also expressed his desire to become a father someday.
Bhaijaan, who appeared as the first guest on final season, made it clear that staying single was a personal choice and not something influenced by circumstances or other people.
Speaking about his decision, Salman said, “Nobody stopped me from getting married; I stopped myself.”
He further explained,“So, you cannot complain that ‘this is what I wanted and the whole world went against me, which is why I couldn’t be with a partner.’ I can’t blame anyone because it was my decision, and I am happy with it,” he shared.
While Salman seems content with his decision to remain unmarried, he revealed that becoming a father is something he still hopes to experience. “But yes, kids will come into the picture one day,” the actor added.
During the episode, KJo admitted that he occasionally feels lonely without a romantic partner. However, Salman had a different perspective on the subject.
Responding to Karan, he said, “But you have children, and you have your mother. You are fortunate. You become lonely only when nobody wants to be with you. I don’t think that’s the case.”Karan then asked Salman whether he ever felt that he was missing out on the experience of parenthood. He said, “I do want to have children at some point. That’s the most amazing thing, and I was very happy when you had children. So, you can never say you are lonely; you have two beautiful children.”
