Fatima Sana Shaikh has opened up about her friendship with Vijay Varma, describing the actor as someone she deeply admires both personally and professionally. In a recent conversation, Fatima spoke warmly about their bond and highlighted what makes Vijay stand out to her, his emotional intelligence.
“He is an incredible person. He is a prolific actor. Also, he has a high EQ,” she said. Fatima added that while she considers Vijay an intelligent person, it is his emotional quotient that particularly impresses the actress. According to her, it is “extremely high.”
The friendship also extends to Rhea Chakraborty, with the trio sharing a close equation away from the spotlight. “We stay in touch often, bounce ideas off each other, and depend on each other emotionally. All of us have a very beautiful relationship. We’re really tight friends,” Fatima shared.
Her comments offer another sweet glimpse into the friendship that grew between her and Vijay while working on Gustaakh Ishq. The two actors connected quickly on the sets, something Vijay had spoken about while discussing their collaboration. Their characters were meant to maintain a certain emotional distance, while their off-screen friendship naturally made them more relaxed around each other. Director Vibhu Puri eventually had to remind them to keep that camaraderie in check for the scenes which did not require that kind of candidness.
Still, the ease between Fatima and Vijay clearly became an important part of their working relationship. From spontaneous banter on set to the friendship that continued after filming, their equation appears to have gone well beyond simply being co-stars.
