Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu reprimanded officials during a review meeting in Krishna district on Friday.

Participating in the May Day celebrations at Pamidimukkala village in Krishna district, Naidu reacted sharply to negative public feedback on the functioning of some government departments. He also conducted a review of the performances of the district’s government departments.

In an unusual manner, the Chief Minister read out feedback received from the public, on stage, and assessed the performance of officials based on citizens’ opinions. He stressed that public satisfaction alone would be the benchmark for evaluating governance and administrative efficiency.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the functioning of departments such as civil supplies, roads and buildings, APSRTC, police and RTI-related services, the CM warned officials against negligence in delivering public services. Inefficiency and lack of responsiveness would not be tolerated, he said.

Performance, he said, is the only yardstick to rate the efficacy of government services. Officials must maintain public trust. He asked officials to openly state on the dais the timeframe within which they would improve their performance.

Naidu interacted with officers who had received positive feedback and sought details of the measures implemented by them. Appreciating efficient officials, he urged them to serve as role models for others in the administration.
