Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday launched a new governance initiative, replicating the innovative district-level administrative models initiated by collectors across Andhra Pradesh

The CM appointed district collectors as mentors for implementing the best practices throughout Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing the Seventh District Collectors’ Conference at the Secretariat in Amaravati, Chandrababu Naidu appreciated collectors for moving beyond conventional governance methods and adopting innovative, low-cost solutions that improve public service delivery.

The first day of the conference, chaired by Naidu, lasted nearly 11 hours and focused on governance reforms, industrial growth, innovation, land pooling, agriculture, and tourism.

The government has identified nine best practices and entrusted 10 collectors with the responsibility of implementing these practices across the state.

Kadapa collector Cherukuri Sridhar has been named the mentor for the “Smart Kitchens” initiative, while Chittoor collector Sumit Kumar and Palnadu collector Kritika Shukla will oversee the “Sanjeevani” project. Annamayya collector Nishant Kumar will mentor the “Jaladhara” initiative.

Nellore collector Himanshu Shukla has been assigned the “One Village Four Visits” concept for resolving revenue disputes, while Parvathipuram Manyam collector Prabhakar Reddy will guide the “Mustabu” programme. Anakapalli collector Vijaya Krishnan has been appointed the mentor for “Net Zero” initiative.

Srikakulam collector Swapnil Dinakar will lead the “Swabhiman” grievance redressal programme for persons with disabilities, while West Godavari collector Nagarani will oversee the “Circular Economy” initiative aimed at converting aqua and agricultural waste into high-value bio-products. Tirupati collector Venkateswar will mentor the “Unlocking Wealth” concept.

The Chief Minister said innovative governance practices are ensuring better results at lower costs. He said the successful models are now being scaled up across the state.

He announced that a Cabinet sub-committee had been constituted to study and implement governance practices inspired by Singapore.

Reviewing departmental performance, Chandrababu Naidu directed collectors to develop RTIH spoke models in every district. He said AI-based governance solutions would be sourced through RTIH platforms. He proposed a Student Innovation Conclave for Classes VIII, IX and X students.

Highlighting the state’s industrial push, the CM said Andhra Pradesh is ensuring dispute-free land acquisition while making landowners partners in development. He pointed out that a ₹15,000-crore defence manufacturing project is coming up in Anantapur, while ArcelorMittal is expected to begin production by 2028.

Naidu said Rayalaseema will emerge as a renewable energy and horticulture hub, while large investments are flowing into Anakapalli district. He announced plans to construct 50,000 hotel rooms to strengthen tourism infrastructure across the state.
