VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Pradesh government has extended Post-Matric Scholarship (PMS) benefits to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students pursuing undergraduate courses in deemed-to-be universities in the state under the Public-Private-People Partnership (P4) model.
Social welfare secretary M.M. Nayak issued G.O. Ms. No. 13 on Tuesday, extending the scholarship scheme to eligible SC and ST students enrolled in undergraduate programmes in deemed-to-be universities.
Under the arrangement, the Central government’s share of the scholarship will remain 60 per cent for SC students and 75 per cent for ST students. The state’s share — 40 per cent for SC students and 25 per cent for ST students — will be met through contributions under the P4 initiative, according to the government order.
