Union minister Pemmasani Chandrasekhar has said the Andhra Pradesh government’s goal is to encourage women towards entrepreneurship. The government is committed to transforming women into entrepreneurs. Several measures are being taken to make one entrepreneur from every family.
Pemmasani revealed that they focused on providing financial support and market linkage to women’s products.
This is the first time that National Saras event is being held in Vijayawada. Arrangements are being made for the programe, scheduled to be held during Dasara festival. Minister Kondapalli Srinivas inspected the arrangements.
Saras would provide marketing and market access to products made by the women SHGs. Domestic products will get good marketing platform. Over 350 stalls would be set up by women SHGs of different states in the county at the event. Of this, 250 would be set up by women in Andhra Pradesh.
The National Saras event will give national recognition to women’s products. There is a proposal to create ‘Swayam AP’, a special brand for AP women’s products. Quality products of Swayam AP would be provided support in branding, packaging and marketing. The government is taking steps to increase family income through economic empowerment of women, through SHGs.
