Amaravati: The Government of Andhra Pradesh on Monday announced a major financial initiative for DWCRA (Development of Women and Children in Rural Areas) women, where they can avail personal loans of up to Rs.10 lakh without requiring any collateral, enabling women to establish or expand MSME units.
Kondapalli Srinivas, Minister for MSME, SERP, and NRI Empowerment & Relations, said that the decision aims to strengthen rural livelihoods and support women-led businesses. The loans will be provided under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM), a flagship program focused on poverty alleviation through self-employment and skill development.
One of the most notable aspects of this initiative is that no security or collateral is required, making it highly accessible to women from economically weaker sections. The Central Government has also introduced the IELA mechanism to simplify and streamline the loan application process.
The minister urged DWCRA women across the state to take full advantage of this opportunity. He clarified that the loans are available not only for those already running enterprises but also for women planning to start new MSME units.
Priority will be given to businesses in agriculture-allied and food processing sectors. Suggested areas include drumstick cultivation, honey production, mushroom farming, plant nurseries, solar drying units, protected farming, and fisheries. These sectors have been identified for their strong growth potential and relevance to rural economies.
To further support applicants, officials from the Velugu division of the SERP Department will assist in preparing Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) and guide women through the application process. Eligible candidates are encouraged to apply and make use of the technical and administrative support available.
