AP Guv, CM Commemorate Muharram, Recall Imam Hussain’s Sacrifice

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Governor S Abdul Nazeer, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, and YSRCP supremo YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday commemorated Muharram, recalling the sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain and highlighting the values of truth, justice, and selflessness.The Governor said that Muharram, the first month of the Islamic lunar calendar, holds a special place in the hearts of Muslims worldwide and commemorates the martyrdom of Hussain, the grandson of the Holy Prophet, who sacrificed his life at the altar of true belief.

“Remembrance of goodness and sacrifice is the true meaning of Muharram,” Nazeer said in a post on ‘X’. He described Muharram as a time of deep reflection, remembrance and spiritual devotion, urging people to emulate its spirit by embodying humanism, which he said is the core principle of Islam.
Similarly, CM Naidu said that Muharram inspires people to remain steadfast on the path of truth despite hardship and symbolises sacrifice.
“On the occasion of Muharram, let us remember the sacrifice of Imam Hussain, who fought for truth and justice without caring even for his life. I pray that Muharram brings peace to everyone and guides us on the path of righteousness,” the CM said in a post on ‘X’.
Likewise, YS Jagan said that Muharram inspires people to walk on the path of truth despite adversities and symbolises sacrifice.He called upon people to remember the sacrifice of Imam Hussain, who fought for truth and justice, and prayed that Muharram brings peace to everyone while guiding humanity on the path of righteousness.
Muharram, particularly Ashura, commemorates the martyrdom of Hussain at the Battle of Karbala and symbolises sacrifice, truth, justice and unwavering faith.
