Amaravati: In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, Andhra Pradesh Government has transferred nine IPS officers to fill the top police posts in the newly formed Markapuram, Polavaram and Palnadu districts. DGP Harish Kumar Gupta issued the orders on Monday.
All three district Superintendents of Police are 2020-batch officers, and it is the first district SP posting for each of them. Pankaj Kumar Meena, previously OSD Polavaram, becomes SP of Markapuram. Jagadeesh Adahalli, formerly SP of CMSG, takes over as SP of Palnadu. K. Chakravarthy, who was SP of CID, is the new SP of Polavaram.
Markapuram and Polavaram had no full-time SPs since they were created, with the SPs of Prakasam and Alluri Sitarama Raju districts holding additional charge. The Palnadu post fell vacant after B. Krishna Rao went on deputation to central services.
Among senior officers, SPF DG C.H. Trivikrama Varma has been posted as Director of the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL). R. Jayalakshmi, who was ACB Director, moves as IG of CID Cyber Crimes. B. Rajakumari, who was IG of APSP Battalions, has been appointed Railway IG and given additional charge as IG of CID Women Safety
Two officers who had been awaiting postings after their reinstatement were accommodated. Kanti Rana Tata is now IG of Traffic Management and Road Safety, and Vishal Gunni is DIG Training. Babuji Attada, DIG of Greyhounds, has been moved to DIG Technical Services.
