VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh on Saturday launched its first Quantum Incubator at Medha Towers in Amaravati, marking a key step in the state’s efforts to emerge as a hub for advanced technologies.
The facility was inaugurated by Andhra Pradesh Technology Services (APTS) Chairman Mannava Mohana Krishna, Chandigarh University Managing Director Jai Inder Singh Sandhu and Quantum Valley Director Sridhar.
The incubator aims to promote innovation, research, start-up growth and skill development in the rapidly evolving field of quantum technology.
On the occasion, Mannava Mohana Krishna signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chandigarh University Business Incubation Centre (CUBIC) on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh government. The partnership will focus on quantum technology research, start-up incubation, entrepreneurship development, advanced training programmes and industry collaboration.
Addressing the gathering, Krishna said the partnership with Chandigarh University would create new opportunities for students, researchers and entrepreneurs in Andhra Pradesh. He said the incubator would provide access to mentorship, quantum computing resources, industry networks and investor engagement platforms.
Krishna said the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and the guidance of IT Minister Nara Lokesh, was committed to making Andhra Pradesh a leading destination for quantum technologies, DeepTech and artificial intelligence.
Quantum Valley Director Sridhar described quantum technology as a transformative field that would shape the future of industries and economies worldwide. He expressed confidence that the state’s youth would benefit from the opportunities created through the incubator and compete successfully at the global level.
