Vijayawada:Energy minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar has said the state government would introduce an underground cabling system to ensure uninterrupted power supply to critical and emergency services in the state.
The minister held a review meeting with senior energy officials at the secretariat on Wednesday. He asked the officials to expedite completion of power substations which were under construction to see that the power interruptions and low voltage issues are avoided.
He called for ensuring restoration of power supply through alternative arrangements whenever disruptions occurred and felt the need to strengthen the reliability of the electricity network.
The minister called for uninterrupted power supply to the healthcare sector to avoid any inconvenience to the patients during outages and felt the need to review performance of generators in nearly 30 major hospitals and ensure that no switch-over issues arising during power failures.
