Hyderabad: The Government of India has fixed daily wages for unskilled manual workers in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana at ₹312 and ₹308 respectively under the revised schedule of the Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) [VB-G RAM G] Act, 2025.

The updated wage rates were notified by the Ministry of Rural Development through an Extraordinary Gazette on June 30 and have come into force from July 1, 2026. The revision replaces the earlier wage structure that had been in place since 2013.

Among the two Telugu states, Andhra Pradesh has been assigned a slightly higher daily wage than Telangana. However, both states remain below the top-paying regions such as Haryana (₹409), Goa (₹406), and Kerala (₹401).

The Centre has continued with a region-specific wage system instead of implementing a uniform national wage, citing geographical and administrative variations across states.

The revised framework aims to better reflect local conditions while ensuring rural employment and livelihood support under the scheme.
