Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh government-backed Rythu Sadhikara Samstha (RySS) will organise a 14-day international training programme titled – Regenerate Earth Master Class – from June 1 to June 13 in Guntur to scientifically validate natural farming and demonstrate its benefits through empirical evidence.
Global organisation Regenerate Earth is collaborating with RySS in holding the fortnight-long class. The initiative comes at a time when natural farming is attracting increasing global attention as a sustainable solution to challenges, such as climate change, soil degradation, water scarcity, and rising cultivation costs.
According to RySS, the training will focus on the theme “Measuring Natural Farming Impact – Scientific Metrics to Verify Natural Farming Outcomes and Benefits.” Participants will be trained in globally accepted methods to measure, record, and analyse the impact of natural farming on key indicators, like soil health, water conservation, crop performance, microbial ecosystems, carbon sequestration, and climate resilience.
The programme will include field visits to natural farming plots, enabling participants to observe and assess the on-ground impact of sustainable agricultural practices.
International experts Phil Lee, Ben Fox, and Josephine Camacher will lead the master class. The trainers have extensive expertise in data-driven analysis, field observations, and scientific evaluation of natural farming systems.
RySS officials said the programme marks a significant step towards establishing natural farming as a scientifically verifiable agricultural model, rather than merely a traditional practice. The initiative is expected to lay the groundwork for future data-driven research, carbon and environmental impact assessments, farm-level monitoring systems, international collaborations, and wider scientific validation of natural farming methodologies.
With this, Andhra Pradesh is taking another major step towards showcasing natural farming to the world while providing robust scientific evidence in its favour.
