Visakhapatnam: Agriculture minister and Parvathipuram Manyam district in-charge minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu has said the alliance government has successfully transformed the state from a period of severe financial distress to a haen of welfare, development and economic stability in the last two years.

Speaking at the district-level ‘Two Years of Trust – Development and Welfare’ celebrations and the Talliki Vandanam programme held in Parvathipuram on Tuesday, Atchennaidu said that when the government took charge in June 2024, the state’s finances were in a mess. Despite the challenges, the administration led by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu fulfilled several election promises and launched welfare initiatives benefiting lakhs of families.

The minister cited the implementation of the Talliki Vandanam scheme, under which financial assistance was directly transferred to mothers’ bank accounts to support children’s education. The scheme, he noted, is being implemented without limiting benefits based on the number of children in a family.

Referring to the district’s progress, Atchennaidu noted that Parvathipuram Manyam had secured the highest pass percentages in SSC and Intermediate examinations for two consecutive years, “reflecting the government’s focus on strengthening education.” He said `2,500 crore had been allocated for the completion of key irrigation projects, including Thotapalli, Vamsadhara and Madduvalasa, within the next two years.

Government whip and Kurupam MLA Toyaka Jagadeeswari said the alliance government was delivering on both welfare and development in a balanced manner. Parvathipuram MLA Bonela Vijayachandra highlighted investment opportunities, employment generation and infrastructure growth, stating that “Andhra Pradesh is steadily progressing towards the vision of a prosperous Swarna Andhra.”

District collector Prabhakar Reddy said the district had witnessed remarkable progress in education, healthcare, road connectivity and welfare implementation. Literacy levels had risen significantly, while government schools continued to deliver outstanding academic results.
