Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government has issued an order notifying amendments to levy and assessment of property tax rules, 2020, in order to waive 50 per cent of the Vacant Land Tax during the construction period.
Urban development principal secretary Suresh Kumar issued GO-Ms-86 here on Tuesday, amending certain provisions in the Levy and Assessment of Property Tax Rules, 2020.
Accordingly, the waiver of 50 per cent of the Vacant Land Tax shall be given during the construction period –ie, from the date of granting permission for the construction of a building until the date of issue of the Occupancy Certificate or the date of completion of the building or the expiry of the validity of such permissions or its extended validity, whichever is earlier.
This waiver on VLT will not be applicable to any authorised construction in municipalities, urban development authorities or in any other competent authority.
