
An inspection conducted at the canteen of Apollo Hospital on Bannerghatta road of Bengaluru on Thursday by officials of Food Safety and Drug Administration found expired raw materials, misbranded food items among others.
The inspection led to discovery of expired raw materials stored in the kitchen such as rava, icing sugar, maida, bakery products, four packets of mixture, nine packets of pani poori past their shelf life and stale bread. Besides, Food Safety officials came across the use of two plastic chopping boards considered unhygienic for food preparation.
Among the food items seized by the inspecting team of Food Safety and Drug Administration included nine packets of pani poori, five packets of meethi leaves, six packets of fried gram weighing 30 grams each, one packet of green peas of 30 kg and five packets of moong dal of 30 kg each.
