Nizamabad: An Army soldier from Tealgana has been missing for over a year in Haryana, with his family still awaiting word on his whereabouts.
Despite repeated appeals to the Ministry of Defence and police, there has been no breakthrough.
The missing soldier is identified as Lance Naik Thota Anil (Army No. 15825830P) of Ailapur in Nandipet mandal, Nizamabad district.
He went missing under suspicious circumstances on August 8, 2025, while on duty at the 33 Field Ammunition Depot, Ambala Cantonment. L/Nk Anil had enrolled in the Army on September 21, 2015, at the AOC Centre, Secunderabad.
His wife Anusha and their two‑year‑old son Shivansh are struggling through the uncertainty. “On August 7, Anil spoke to me over the phone as usual.
The next day, officials informed us he was missing,” Anusha told Deccan Chronicle.
She said she had asked the Army to verify CCTV footage and mobile records, but was told cameras were not working due to a power cut.
The family has approached Union minister of state Bandi Sanjay Kumar and minister Ponnam Prabhakar seeking help.
Ex‑servicemen welfare association president Bandela Surender Reddy said the family was in depression and criticised officials for failing to trace the soldier.
“Either terrorists or the Line of Control are not connected to Haryana, yet the soldier remains untraced for a year,” he said, urging the defence ministry to act immediately.
