Hyderabad: Telangana has been allotted a quota of 5,594 seats for Haj 2027, of whom 4,508 applicants were selected through a random digital draw of lots on Thursday.
According to the Telangana Haj Committee chairman Syed Gulam Afzal Biyabani, 11,708 applications were received for Haj 2027, including 818 under the reserved category for pilgrims aged 65 and above and 186 from the Haj 2026 waiting list.
With 4,508 applicants selected through the draw, remaining 6,114 applicants have been placed on waiting list. The selected pilgrims have been asked to pay the first installment by August 10. They can also check their selection status on website www.hajcommittee.gov.in.
