Bukayo Saka is set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering an injury during Arsenal’s match against Bayern Munich, leaving the Gunners without one of their most important attacking players. However, the exact length of his absence remains uncertain, with Mikel Arteta admitting that he does not yet know when the England international will be ready to return.
Arteta is usually reluctant to provide specific recovery dates when his players pick up injuries, preferring to wait until they are close to returning. On this occasion, though, the uncertainty appears genuine as Arsenal assess the extent of Saka’s quadriceps problem.

The injury occurred as the attacker attempted to pass the ball, without any opponent making contact with him. It was an unusual incident, and Arsenal will hope the damage is not serious enough to keep him out for an extended period.
Arteta uncertain over Saka recovery
Saka will definitely miss the Premier League match against Hull City, but the bigger question is how many additional games he could be forced to sit out. There have been suggestions that he might be unavailable for around a month, although Arteta has not confirmed that timeframe.
Speaking via Hayters, the Arsenal manager provided an update on the winger’s condition and admitted that the club still needs more time to understand how quickly he will recover.

“I think so (he could be out for a month), but I don’t know.
“The way it happened, it wasn’t a really aggressive action. So that gives you some hope as well that the tissue will repair in a more efficient and faster way as well.
“He’s had some very good symptoms right now so we have to wait and see.”

Arsenal must cope without key attacker
The positive signs mentioned by Arteta will encourage Arsenal supporters, although the club will not want to rush Saka back before he is fully recovered. His importance to the team means his absence will be felt, particularly in the attacking areas where he regularly makes a difference.

Nevertheless, Arsenal have a strong squad and must find a way to maintain their title challenge without him. Every leading club has to deal with injuries to important players during a long season, and the Gunners will need their other attacking options to step up until Saka is available again.
