Asda has made a new announcement this morning.
The supermarket giant said it was entering into a partnership with InPost, which provides parcel lockers across the UK, to install up to 700 at Asda stores. Asda said it would give customers “a convenient new way to send, collect and return parcels while they shop” and said it marked “one of InPost’s most significant UK retail partnerships to date”.
Asda said the rollout formed part of its “continued investment in services that make life easier for customers and enhance the convenience of shopping in-store”. The parcel lockers will be installed across a mix of Asda superstores, supermarkets and Express locations, enabling customers to collect, send and return parcels at a time that suits them.
The retailer said the launch built on the growing demand for out-of-home delivery solutions, as consumers increasingly look for greater flexibility and control over when and where they send and receive parcels. As part of InPost’s growing UK network of more than 16,000 lockers, Asda said “the partnership underlines the accelerating shift towards out-of-home delivery in the UK”.
It added that “the commitment to install up to 700 Lockers across Asda’s estate will significantly broaden access to InPost’s network and strengthen the role of lockers as a mainstream alternative to traditional home delivery”.
