Asha Bhosle’s Grandson, Chin2 Recalls Her Last Moments, Shares, ‘She Went In Her Sleep On Her Terms’

It was on April 12, 2026 when legendary singer, Asha Bhosle passed away at the age of 92 due to multiple organ failure. Asha Bhosle was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. She left behind her son, Anand and grandkids, Zanai Bhosle and Chin2 Bhosle. Now, Chin2 revealed his grandmother, Asha’s final moments and revealed she died in sleep.

Asha Bhosle’s grandson, Chin2, in an interview with SCREEN, revealed Asha’s final moments and how the family has been dealing with the loss. Chin2 remembered the last conversation he had with Asha, which was three to four days before her demise. He revealed that it was a simple, regular evening where they were discussing the Iran-US-Israel war and had also eaten mangoes. Chin 2 revealed that Asha passed away in the most beautiful way in her sleep. He said:

“She went in the most beautiful way possible, in her sleep, no pain, she was serene. In fact, we had said that we would come to the hospital, but she said, ‘Let me just sleep for a little while.’ She went on her terms, the way she lived life.”

Asha Bhosle’s grandson, Chin2, further revealed that the entire family is currently focused on celebrating the singer’s legacy. He revealed that Zanai is shaken and described it as a loss. He revealed that everyone knows that no one will live forever, but when it happens, it is quite a shock. Speaking about her final days, Chin2 revealed how Asha had gone to watch a three-hour-long Marathi play a day before. She went on stage and scolded the people there to keep the art alive. That’s how she was right till the end. Chin2 revealed that the idea of the family has been about celebrating the life of Asha, and he said:

“We have been meeting quite regularly just for dinner, being around each other, just chatting and laughing. If you were a fly on the wall, it might seem quite bizarre. You would wonder why they are laughing so much. But that’s the idea. Zanai has been extremely upset; she is shattered. They were very close. Aai has been very instrumental in her singing and upbringing. They have been doing so many shows together since she grew up.”

Chin2 even revealed that everyone is shattered beyond repair. There was a point when they all felt unsure about how to move forward, but they have also drawn immense inspiration from Asha Aai. Chin 2 revealed that his grandmother, as a mom, lost two children, which is the most painful thing for a person. However, he has been proud of Asha for making it through. He remembered how she used to tell him that time heals all the bad things, and mentioned:

‘’You have to adapt, bad things happen, time heals all.’ All of us look up to that and think, look how she coped. If that doesn’t inspire us, what will?”

Chin2 has given the most beautiful tribute to his grandmother, Asha, by composing a song, Chalte Chalte. It spoke of their bond, and he noted that no one can carry her legacy forward. They can only take her values forward. Chin2 believes that he can only take the music ahead and touch lives. They are doing stuff for little kids. Chin2 was proud to say that Asha had already told him that if he planned to carry the music legacy forward, her blessings were always there.
