Ashlee Jenae’s Cause Of Death Revealed Nearly 1 Month After Her Tragic Mysterious Passing

US-based influencer, Ashlee Jenae tragically passed away on April 9, 2026. A few days before her tragic death, Ashlee had turned 31. She was allegedly enjoying one of the best phases of her life. On her 31st birthday, Ashlee’s boyfriend, Joe McCann, proposed to her. However, her untimely death days after the engagement had sent shockwaves throughout the nation. She was found dead in her room in the Tanzania hotel. Now, nearly a month after her tragic demise, Ashlee’s cause of death has been revealed.

The mystery surrounding the 31-year-old influencer, Ashlee Jenae’s death has officially concluded. Authorities in Tanzania have ruled that the US-based influencer died by suicide following a fight with her fiance, Joe McCann. Police said the investigation surrounding Ashlee Jenae’s death is now complete. The Tanzania Police Force mentioned that a hotel employee entered the 31-year-old influencer’s villa during a routine evening check after getting no response at the door.

The employee found Ashlee hanging inside a wardrobe. Police said that Ashlee was suspended from the closet’s clothing rail using a robe belt that the hotel provides to their guests. According to the official documents, Ashlee’s immediate cause of death is cerebral hypoxia caused by strangulation and suffocation. Investigators added that the reason behind Ashlee taking such a drastic step was due to fight between her and her fiance, Joe McCann.

Ashlee was allegedly found unresponsive in her villa at Tanzania’s luxurious hotel, Zuri Zanzibar. According to multiple reports, Ashlee and her fiance, Joe, had a huge fight and due to the same, the hotel staff had to intervene and separate them from each other. The couple were reportedly also kept in separate rooms after the fight on April 8, 2026. At the time, Joe told authorities he found Ashlee after she had “hanged herself on the door” the following day, on May 9, 2026. She was rushed to the hospital and was declared brought dead.

However, Ashlee’s mom, during a conversation with 6ABC, shared that she would never believe that her daughter died by suicide. Getting emotional, Ashlee’s mom stated that her daughter FaceTimed her to inform her that she got engaged to Joe. According to Ashlee’s mom, a day after the FaceTime, she got a call from Joe McCann, who informed her that the 31-year-old US-based influencer had done something to herself. The suspicion around Ashlee’s death gained momentum when her tweet from 2013, saying, ‘suicide is never an answer’, resurfaced online. At the time, Ashlee’s family wrote:

“Nothing about this loss feels real. The suddenness, the unanswered questions, and the distance from home have made this tragedy even more overwhelming. There is an active investigation into the circumstances surrounding Ashlee’s suspicious passing. We are placing our trust in the officials. We seek clarity and answers.”

On April 4, 2026, Ashlee Jenae took to her Instagram handle to share a clip from her tour to Africa with her boyfriend, Joe. In the video, Ashlee was seen walking hand in hand and following a lioness. Suddenly, Joe went down on his knees to propose to Ashlee. She got emotional by seeing Joe’s love-filled gesture. The couple then passionately kissed each other, and Joe took Ashlee in his arms. The proposal was all things romantic.
