Tirupati: Endowments minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy on Friday underlined that Atmakur constituency has emerged as one of the leading constituencies in implementation of development and welfare during the two years of the NDA coalition government’s rule in the state.
Addressing the official celebrations organised in Atmakur in this regard, the minister asserted that the state administration under Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is steadily implementing its election promises made to the people, apart from successfully rolling out the Super Six promises prior to the elections.
He pointed out that a total of ₹6,545.70 crore have been spent in the constituency during the past two years, including ₹3,461.17 crore towards welfare programmes and ₹3,084.53 crore on development works.
Anam maintained that the government has repealed the Land Titling Act brought in by the previous regime to safeguard farmers’ rights. It has issued new pattadar passbooks bearing the government seal. Welfare schemes such as Annadata Sukhibhava, PM Kisan, enhanced pensions, free bus travel for women, Deepam-2 and Talliki Vandanam are directly benefitting thousands of families, he stated.
He emphasised that serving as Endowments minister is a privilege for him. He mentioned that 10 of the 11 major promises made in the Endowments sector have already been fulfilled. More than 800 ancient temples across the state are being renovated and developed as spiritual centres.
Highlighting irrigation projects, Ramanarayana Reddy said the government is aiming to complete the Somasila High Level Canal works up to Marripadu, while works are progressing on the Somasila Reservoir, Sangam Barrage, ASR High Level Canal, Kavali Canal, and Kanigiri Reservoir.
The minister announced that a Chhattisgarh-based company is planning to establish an industry on 300 acres at Marripadu with an investment of ₹500 crore. An MSME Park and an Auto Nagar are also being developed to strengthen industrial growth and generate employment opportunities for local youth, he added.
