Australia Rest Key Test Players Ahead of T20I Series Against Pakistan, Captain Yet to Be Announced

Australia has opted to rest its Test regulars for the upcoming T20 International series against Pakistan, focusing instead on the crucial Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India next month. The T20I series will follow a three-match ODI series starting on November 4, with the T20Is scheduled from November 14 to 18.

Notably absent from the T20 squad are key players such as Mitchell MarshTravis Head, and Pat Cummins, leaving the team without an appointed captain as of now. The players included in the squad have yet to captain Australia in any format, although several, including Glenn MaxwellAdam Zampa, and Josh Inglis, have leadership experience in the Big Bash League.

Injury recoveries have brought back pacers Xavier BartlettNathan Ellis, and Spencer Johnson into the mix. Selection chief George Bailey expressed optimism about their return, stating, “It’s particularly encouraging to have Xavier, Spencer, and Nathan back in the national setup.”

Andre Borovec will serve as the coach for this T20I series, having previously held this role during a five-match T20I series against India after last year’s ODI World Cup.The full T20I squad includes:
