Avengers has a special gift for all their fans in India. On the festive occasion of Diwali, they revealed to the world that Avengers: Doomsday would be released in India one day before on December 17, compared to its launch date set In The USA for December 18, 2026.
We are just two months away from a release of such a monumental scale. The last new release of an Avengers movie was back in 2019. Avengers: Endgame was a phenomenal hit as it quickly rose the ranks in the list of highest grossing movies of all time. Following the re-release of the film, it has now reached the second spot with a total collection of $2.80 billion, just shy of Avatar (2009) at $2.92 billion.
Alongside that Robert Downey Jr., who plays Dr. Doom, and Chris Evans, as Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, also gave their fans in India a special festive message. Downey began his message with a very warm welcome, and said, “Namaste India!”
Following that, Evans talks about what he loves the most about the festival. He said, “What we love about Diwali is that it marks the closing of one chapter and the beginning of another.
Closely relating the events of Doomsday and the festival of Diwali, Robert Downey Jr. added, “That’s something we know a lot about, except instead of moving from dark to light, I think it may be going in the other direction.”
This also acts as a subtle hint of what we can look forward to expecting from the upcoming sequel. The heroes are in for a heap of trouble. They end the sweet message on a nice note, saying, “Happy Diwali, and we will see you soon on Doomsday!”
Avengers: Doomsday is all set for its release on December 17, 2026. Acting as a direct narrative sequel to Avengers: Endgame, the events originate from Steve Roger’s choice to travel back in time to spend his remaining days with the love of his life, Peggy Carter, when Loki makes his surprising entry.
