Nandamuri Balakrishna has once again won appreciation within the Telugu film industry for his generosity. The seasoned actor has often earned praise for standing by producers during difficult times, either by reducing his remuneration or extending support when films failed to recover their investments. Now, industry circles are abuzz with another such gesture involving producer Sudhakar Cherukuri.
According to reports, Sudhakar Cherukuri was originally set to bankroll the much-anticipated debut film of Balakrishna’s son, Mokshagna. The producer is said to have spent a considerable amount on the project’s pre-production, including script development and other preparatory work. However, the film was eventually shelved before it could go on floors, reportedly leaving the producer with financial losses.
In what is being viewed as a thoughtful move, Balakrishna is believed to have ensured that Sudhakar Cherukuri became one of the producers of his upcoming film, tentatively titled #NBK112, which will be directed by Koratala Siva. The arrangement is said to have been made partly to help the producer recover the losses incurred on the stalled Mokshagna project.
Interestingly, #NBK112 was initially expected to be produced by Sudhakar Mikkilineni, who previously backed Jr NTR’s Devara. Now, both Sudhakar Mikkilineni and Sudhakar Cherukuri have come together to jointly produce the prestigious project.
“One Sudhakar came on board because of his long-standing association with director Koratala Siva, while the other was accommodated following Balakrishna’s decision to help him recover the losses from the shelved Mokshagna film,” says a trade source.
Sudhakar Cherukuri is currently producing Nani’s ambitious pan-India film The Paradise, one of the most expensive projects in the actor’s career. Despite being occupied with the high-budget venture, his association with #NBK112 has generated considerable interest within the industry.
Although there has been no official confirmation regarding the reported arrangement, the development has drawn widespread appreciation in film circles. Balakrishna’s willingness to stand by producers during difficult times has strengthened his reputation as an actor who values long-term relationships over commercial considerations.
