Hyderabad: BRS leader and former Chennur MLA Balka Suman was arrested on Saturday in connection with a case registered against him over alleged provocative remarks calling for militant protests and attacks on government property. Police picked up him at Telangana Bhavan in the city.
The case was booked following a complaint lodged by Motha Rohit Mudiraj, Khairatabad District Congress Committee President, at the Nampally police station.
Along with the complaint, Rohit submitted a 59-second video purportedly showing Suman delivering a speech at Telangana Bhavan on Tuesday, where he allegedly promoted provocative and destructive, militant-style tactics to protest against the ruling Congress government.
According to the police, Suman made remarks that incited violence and instigated BRS leaders present at the meeting, with an intention to disturb law and order in the state.
The complaint further stated that Suman encouraged people to set fire to government offices, damage Singareni assets, block railway lines, and engage in violent activities.
The complainant termed the statements extremely dangerous, warning that such irresponsible remarks could seriously disrupt public peace.
