A few days after a comfortable win over Brescia in the Champions League, Barceloneta struggled to beat Terrassa in the penultimate round of the regular season in the Spanish League.

Even though it had a poor start, Barceloneta recorded a 14:10 victory.

Terrassa, the home team, stunned Barceloneta in the first quarter, taking a 6:2 lead (7th minute). Thirteen seconds before the first break, Bernat Sanahuja made it 3:6 to kick off Barceloneta’s 5:0 run. The visitors leveled at 6:6 by the end of the first half, and forced an exclusion in their first possession in the third period. Alberto Munarriz converted a man-up, giving Barceloneta the first lead in the match, 7:6. Lars ten Broek equalized immediately. Following that, Gergely Burian netted two back-to-back goals and the visitors built a two-goal lead for the first time (9:7). They were three goals ahead of Terrassa before the final quarter (11:8) and kept control until the end.

Gergely Burian scored four goals in a 14:10 victory, and Bernat Sanahuja added three. Terrassa’s best scorers were Ten Broek, Blasco, and Teclas with two goals each.

With the victory over Terrassa, Barceloneta mathematically secured the top spot before the playoffs. Sabadell, which will play its match of the 21st round on Wednesday, can’t catch up with the champion.

It’s almost certain that Sabadell will enter the playoffs from 2nd place, and Barcelona from 3rd place. Terrassa can’t move from 4th place.
