Natasha Raskin Sharp has been a regular on our TV screens since 2014, appearing on shows like Bargain Hunt and Antiques Road Trip.
BBC fans want to know more about Natasha Raskin Sharp’s life off-screen including her famous father.
The BBC presenter has become a recognisable presence on television since 2014, featuring on numerous popular programmes including Bargain Hunt, Flog It!, Antiques Road Trip and Celebrity Antiques Road Trip.
She resides in Scotland with her husband and daughter, maintaining a fairly private personal life away from the cameras.
Born in Glasgow in 1986, Natasha initially pursued law at the University of Leeds. However, she quickly discovered it wasn’t the right path for her, and instead chose to channel her artistic flair by studying history of art at the University of Glasgow.
Natasha Raskin Sharp’s famous father and Obama connection
Following her degree, the Scottish art lover explored various career opportunities, including a stint in the fashion industry during a placement with the Alice Temperley fashion house in London.
Creativity clearly runs through the family bloodline, as Natasha’s father is artist Philip Raskin, who specialised in landscape art, reports the Liverpool Echo.
The artist’s works have been sold throughout the world and he is a famous figure in the contemporary Scottish art scene.
Beyond the creative sphere, Natasha worked on the 2008 primary elections for Barack Obama in New Hampshire. Natasha had the opportunity to meet Obama and reflected on the memorable experience in an interview with the Sunday Post.
She said: “I was only there for three months, and he came to Portsmouth, New Hampshire, when I happened to be there. I was so lucky, if you think of the number of states in America, and the number of campaign offices across the whole country which Barack Obama would have visited during that campaign.
“He was asked to sign a letterheaded paper when he was there, and it happened to come through the printer with a very generic reference for me.”
She later joined McTear’s auction house in Glasgow, where she specialised predominantly in contemporary Scottish art.
These days, the star juggles her television career alongside regular stints on the radio, presenting a music and entertainment programme on BBC Radio Scotland every Thursday from 10pm.

Natasha keeps her 39,000 Instagram followers regularly updated with glimpses into her everyday life. The family of three are based in Glasgow.
Over the festive period, the TV presenter shared a touching photograph of herself reading a bedtime story to Jean, captioning it: “Been having such a lovely time with Jean et al that I forgot to say…hope everyone’s been having a merry old time!”.
She also treated fans to some behind-the-scenes snaps from her road trip alongside Antiques Road Trip co-star Philip Serrell. The antiques expert enthused: “Hope you’ve been enjoying my @antiqueroadtrip with Phil – Jean was with us the whole time!”.
Fans flooded the comments section upon discovering that baby Jean had been along for the ride. One wrote: “It’s fab and Jean is a lucky mascot so far.”
Another added: “Two of the loveliest experts you could ever meet xx” Viewers couldn’t get enough of Natasha and Phil’s on-screen chemistry on the beloved BBC programme.
Antiques Road Trip first graced BBC One screens back in 2010, and its roster of knowledgeable experts has steadily grown ever since.
