Bengaluru Techie Arrested Over Extortion Threats to Ayushmann Khurrana

Just when the Hindi film fraternity was beginning to hold its collective breath over a disturbing rise in underworld intimidation, the Mumbai Crime Branch has scored a major, welcome breakthrough. In a swift, technically coordinated cross-state operation, city police have apprehended a 30-year-old Bengaluru-based IT engineer, identified as Vaibhav Mishra, for orchestrating menacing extortion threats against leading Bollywood stars, including Ayushmann Khurrana and Tusshar Kapoor.

Capitalising on the pervasive climate of anxiety that followed the recent shocking firing incident outside Tiger Shroff’s vehicle in suburban Juhu, the accused attempted to cash in by posing as an active operative of the dreaded Lawrence Bishnoi syndicate. Operating stealthily out of the southern tech hub, Mishra reportedly targeted prominent actors through private Instagram messages and ominous voice notes. In Tusshar Kapoor’s case, he brazenly posed as “Harry Boxer”, demanding an eye-watering sum of five crore rupees, while similar extortion audio messages demanding multiple crores were dispatched directly to actor Ayushmann.

However, his elaborate digital bluff unravelled remarkably fast under intense police scrutiny. Forensic audio analysis and relentless cyber tracing of telephony IP gateways quickly led Crime Branch sleuths straight to his Bengaluru doorstep. Confirming the breakthrough, investigators clarified that despite invoking feared gangland names to induce sheer panic, preliminary scrutiny found zero actual links between Mishra and the Bishnoi criminal syndicate. It was simply an opportunist software graduate trying to make a quick buck by exploiting Bollywood’s heightened security anxieties and sensational media headlines.

The decisive arrest comes as a massive sigh of relief for an entertainment industry already navigating fortified security details, bulletproof vehicles, and cancelled public appearances. With opportunistic copycat extortionists trying their luck amidst real-world gang tensions, Mumbai Police’s rapid crackdown delivers a stern, unmistakable warning to anyone foolishly attempting to leverage celebrity fear for quick extortion.

While further interrogations continue to establish whether others were roped into the scheme, Tinseltown can finally breathe a little easier knowing this particular digital scarecrow is safely locked away behind bars today.
