Carlos Alcaraz was handed a free passage through to the quarter-finals of the Paris Masters following the withdrawal of Matteo Berrettini.
The pair had been due to clash on Thursday evening in the French capital but Berrettini has suffered another injury setback, pulling out due to pain in his arm.
Alcaraz, one of only three top-10 seeds to make the third round in a tournament of upsets, will take on either Frenchman Arthur Fils or US star Taylor Fritz in the last eight.
