Bhagyashri Borse turned emotional at the first post-release event of her latest film, Lenin. Her eyes welled up as she spoke about finally receiving the “public validation” she had longed for, a sentiment Akkineni Nagarjuna revealed after a private conversation with her. For the actress, success carries special meaning because she comes from humble beginnings.

Parents started from zero
Speaking on Honest Townhall recently, the Kingdom actress reflected on her upbringing and the financial struggles her family faced. She said she was born into a lower middle-class family and witnessed a very different side of life while growing up.
Bhagyashri shared that her parents built their lives from scratch and fought hard to provide stability for their children. She recalled that financial security was never something the family could take for granted. According to the actress, her parents carefully tracked every rupee they spent, planning each week’s expenses in detail.
“All you care about is food, playing outside and chilling. But I have actually seen a journal that listed expenses like Rs 10 for green chillies and Rs 10 for spinach,” she said.

Lenin leaves her mother emotional
Bhagyashri also revealed that her mother was deeply moved after watching Lenin. “My mother called me after watching the movie. She loved the film and praised my performance. However, Bharathi’s ending made her very emotional. As a mother, she found it difficult to watch that final scene and felt a deep connection to the character. Overall, both my parents are incredibly happy and proud of my performance,” the actress shared. The strong theatrical performance has brought relief to the entire team, with Lenin reportedly crossing Rs 60 crore worldwide during its opening weekend.
Bhagyashri Borse is currently busy shooting for Sivakarthikeyan’s Seyon, which is scheduled to release in theatres later this year.
