HYDERABAD: The Telangana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appealed to all eligible graduates to enrol as voters for the Legislative Council (MLC) elections, and stated that even those already on the electoral roll must re‑register to retain their voting rights.
P.L. Srinivas, spokesperson, recalling his loss by 400 votes in the 2007 poll from the Mahbubnagar–Rangareddy–Hyderabad Graduates’ Constituency. He noted that Backward Classes communities constituted a major chunk of voters in the three districts. “I know the value of every single vote,” he said, calling upon BJP leaders, cadre, well‑wishers and sympathisers to ensure that every eligible graduate completes enrolment without fail.
He said graduates who completed their degree in 2023 or earlier are eligible to enrol. The last date for enrolment is November 6, and applications must be submitted online at the CEO Telangana website using Form‑18. The party emphasised that even graduates already enrolled in previous rolls must re‑enrol using Form‑18; failure to do so will render them ineligible to vote in the 2027 MLC elections.
The Election Commission of India will announce the vacancy for the Legislative Council seat from the Mahabubnagar–Rangareddy–Hyderabad Graduates’ Constituency, which falls due in March 2027. In preparation, the Chief Electoral Officer, Telangana, issued a public notice for enrolment from September 28, initiating the preparation of a fresh voter list.
