Bob Kevoian Passed Away At 75, He Recalled Being Shocked And Numb With Diagnosis Of Stomach Cancer

The former co-host and co-founder of The Bob & Tom Show, Bob Kevoian passed away at the age of 75. The news of Bob’s passing was confirmed on social media by The Bob & Tom Show. Bob Kevoian had been battling cancer for the last three years, and it was on April 18, 2026, when he passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his close ones.

While the reason for his death was not revealed on the social media post, it was through the WXIN (channel 59), the Fox-affiliated television station in Indianapolis, which reported that Bob was suffering from cancer. It was back in 2023, when Bob sat for a podcast on Spotify, where he spoke about his diagnosis with cancer, and how initially it turned him numb.

Bob Kevoian recalled his numb state after being diagnosed with cancer

Speaking on the Spotify podcast, Bob Kevoian mentioned that he had been diagnosed with stomach cancer. Bob attended the show with his wife, Becky. He shared that it was during his annual checkup that his doctors recommended him a chest X-Ray and eventually found out something. Following this, Bob had to undergo a PET scan and an endoscopic ultrasound, which led to the result of him dealing with cancer.

Bob and his entire family were in shock with the report, and it was on the same day that they had a meet-up with a team of physicians about what to do further. Bob’s wife, Becky, recalled his first response and revealed that it was something that she would never forget. Becky revealed that Bob said that he was not angry, not sad, but just disappointed, as it was going to ruin his summer plans. By that time, Bob had already quit smoking, and it was not even a smoking-related cancer. To quote Becky:

“Bob’s first response which I will never forget, he wasn’t angry, he wasn’t afraid, he just said I’m so disappointed. Well, it is disappointing. It was so disappointing. It’s gonna ruin my summer. Well, we quit smoking so many years ago and it’s not a smoking related cancer. No, it’s not, but you kind of think, well, you quit smoking which you loved. That’s the greatest thing You love.”

In the same podcast, Bob Kevoian spoke about the treatments he had to go through, including chemotherapy and radiation. Bob shared that he had to undergo radiation for five weeks, while he had to take chemotherapy once a week during the same time span.

Bob stated that he had no idea about chemo or radiation, rather what the imagination he had in his head about beaming laser light, googles and somewhat like a Sci-Fi of the 70s and 80s. Speaking about his own experience, Bob said that he was in the radiation room, he was like, ‘wow, it’s kinda cool’, well, not the laser beaming or googles, he had imagined. Speaking about the same, Bob mentioned:

“When I hear chemo I picture laser beams and burning hair. I picture the guys in the hazmat suits and you know goggles and it’s science fiction. We think fifty’s sci fi don’t we? Exactly. Yeah, yeah. And of course I have no idea what it is and they explained it to me and it’s like oh, well this is a lot different. And then I went into the radiation room and was like wow, this is kind of cool and it’s not they’re not shooting a laser beam and burning my skin.”

In the same podcast, Bob mentioned that it seemed like the world came to an end for them on the day and the following days that they found out about his cancer diagnosis. Doctors asked him not to look for things online and to keep on living his life, just like he planned. Well, after the battle for three years, Bob passed away, although the reason for his death is yet to be officially confirmed.
