Shamli: In a tragic incident, a teenage girl was allegedly strangled to death with a scarf by her neighbour inside her home on Friday, and the entire incident was filmed by her younger brother from outside the window of the room
As per police reports, the accused, Ali Mohammad, 22, was found inside the victim’s house while she was alone. When confronted by the girl’s mother, the victim denied inviting him and said he had entered forcibly. Tensions rose after the mother threatened to call the police and file a sexual assault case against him. To support the claim, she allegedly pushed her daughter into the room with him and locked the door from outside before dialling the police control room.
Meanwhile, an argument broke out between the two, and Ali allegedly told the girl her changing statements could implicate him. As she pleaded with her mother to open the door, Ali strangled her with a scarf in a fit of rage.
The victim’s brother recorded the two-minute video from a window. When the police arrived, they found the girl unconscious and rushed her to the hospital, where she was declared dead. The victim was said to be the third child out of the woman’s 11 children. She and the accused were neighbours and belonged to the same community.
Ali Mohammad was arrested, and the police stated that the video and phone would be sent for forensic examination.
