Britney Spears' Ex Kevin Facing Huge Credit Card Debt, Was Sued After Child Support Payments Stopped

Britney Spears’ ex-husband, Kevin Federline, has found himself in the headlines for something rather unexpected. According to reports, he is facing massive debt after child support payments from Britney came to an end. The Bank of America even sued Kevin for the money that he owed them.

Kevin Federline continues to face mounting debts

The child support payments that Kevin Federline was receiving from his ex-wife, Britney Spears, seem to have been a major help for him financially. This is because after the payments from the singer stopped, he found himself in massive debt.

PEOPLE recently obtained court documents which revealed that Kevin allegedly owes USD 117,704.77 to the City National Bank. The amount is for a credit line, a personal line of credit, and a personal overdraft line.

The complaint reveals that Kevin had opened an account with the bank in November 2024, around the same time that Britney’s child support payments to him ended. Kevin had been ordered to pay back his credit card debt by August 2026. Meanwhile, his personal line of credit was due last year, in June 2025, and the personal overdraft line was due in April 2025.

The bank is now asking for unpaid accrued interest of 20.5 per cent on the credit card. They also want 7.5 per cent on the personal line of credit, and 18 per cent for the personal overdraft line.

In addition to this, Kevin Federline was hit with another unpaid credit card bill following the end of Britney’s child support payments. According to Page Six, the Bank of America sued Kevin in February 2026 for USD 12,186.64 that he owed them.

The bank also asked the Honolulu, Hawaii, court to determine if the former backup dancer owed them interest, reasonable attorneys’ fees, and court costs associated with the case. This includes the USD 155 that the Bank of America incurred while filing the complaint.

The bank filed to dismiss the lawsuit with prejudice in June 2026. This means that the amount Kevin owed them had been paid.

For those unaware, Kevin Federline and Britney Spears were married from 2004 to 2007. During their time together, they welcomed two sons named Jayden, 20, and Preston, 21, together. Kevin’s attorney, Vincent Kaplan, had previously told media outlets that the Toxic singer had promised to pay child support to her ex-husband until their son, Jayden, graduated high school in November 2024.

In his 2025 memoir You Thought You Knew, Kevin confessed that he was being awarded USD 20,000 per month in child support from Britney Spears. He also received an additional USD 20,000 per month in alimony payments for half the duration of their 26-month marriage.

Kevin wrote in the book that even though many people might think that he’s financially set after hearing the payments he was receiving from Britney, that was not true. He said that in reality, raising his sons in Los Angeles while making sure that they had the stability and security they needed came with a hefty price tag. In his words:

“People hear figures like that and think you’re financially set. But the reality is far from that. Raising two young boys in Los Angeles, while maintaining the security and stability they needed, came with a price tag that would make anyone’s head spin.”
